Once you have registered I will add you to the group, so make sure we are friends on Facebook, or I can't add you. The invite to the group will be sent to your " notifications" tab in facebook.
We will be making Implosion flowers.
The images shown here are samples of the type of beads we will make.
This class requires you to have intermediate to advanced level of glass bead making.
All the lessons are pre-recorded audio visual videos and will be available on the private facebook group set up for this class. These videos will stay up indefinitely as long as it is not abused. Each technique is an individual video.
What are we going to cover in these lessons?
To create beautiful flower implosions!
1: we will create a base for the implosions.
NOT the Maria compression technique. This creates only a one sided implosion. We will be creating implosions visible all around the bead.
2: We will be adding an M2.5 screw into the bead/pendant so that we can add a bail which has a matching thread to wind in to the screw. This makes the bead interchangeable.
3: Using enamels to create wonderful flower implosions
4: Application of various Flower impression stamps
5: Creating implosion leaves
Glass requirements:
We will use Double Helix Zephyr clear glass. Or you can use Effetre clear for practice purposes . The other colours we use are basic colours that most of you will have. You will need Thompsons 9000 series enamels the 80mesh more about this in the group.
Tool Requirements:
The Flower stamps are a must for this class, They are available from http://www.otterbein-glas.de/xtcommerce/index.php?...
You may choose any stamp(s) you prefer. Even if I don't show the specific flower in the class, the technique is the same for all the stamps.

Or you can order the screws form China... The difference is that these have a closed end and I prefer that, but it is not paramount to have these. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000990104715.html... from the drop down you choose the M2.5 screw and the 4mm long one, and follow the directions for shipping options. If the shipping time does not get you the things in time for the class, buy some locally and buy these later!
You will need a marble bead roller with the grooves for the mandrel and look for the ones that have chamfered edges which makes it a lot easier to roll your beads.
For the bails you can either place an order from me some sterling silver bails, like the ones you see displayed on my beads for $20 each excluding shipping or you can buy the ones from beadhoppers.. http://www.beadhoppers.com/index.php/shop... with the short theaded pin.
A stainless steel blowpipe, you will find the on Arrow Springs website and are listed as Astrid's class Blow pipes :) You need the 6mm blowpipe. or from Glasgestaltung Otterbein
Knife. tungsten tweezers and enamel sieves.
